About our Annual Dinner and Silver Buckle Award
To celebrate our progress and continued journey, our Annual Fundraiser will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Rancho Nicasio Restaurant in Nicasio. Buckles & Bling offers guests an opportunity to socialize with friends, enjoy fine food and wine, and learn more about our mission and accomplishments. An online auction will be held in the weeks prior to the event, and a live auction following dinner will offer one-of-a-kind items including travel and adventure, exclusive wines, merchandise, and more. Proceeds from the event support our mission and will help us purchase an additional horse trailer, water storage tanks, and other supplies needed to keep our ranch and animals safe during fire season.
This year, we are excited to honor Dan Phillips with our Silver Buckle Award. Dan is the Director of the Tech Resource Center of Marin, and serves as an Assistive Technology Specialist, supporting over 4,000 students with special needs. As a speech pathologist and an educational technology trainer specializing in augmentative and assistive communication and technology, Dan helps schools integrate mobile technology into classrooms. His efforts have given a voice and a means of communication to so many within our special needs community, for which we are forever grateful.
Join us as Dan shares his experience, knowledge and passion for serving individuals with special needs at this event.
About Halleck Creek Ranch
Since 1977, Halleck Creek Ranch has improved the lives of people with disabilities by providing therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities. Using interaction between horses and humans as a conduit for physical, emotional and mental development, our programs promote independence, self-esteem, problem solving skills, and the development of social and life skills in a supportive environment.
Located on a 60-acre West Marin ranch, our program pairs gentle horses with trained staff and volunteers, and amid breathtaking landscapes we promote a "life without barriers." As a non-profit, we rely on the support of our community to enable us to offer our services to the broadest group of people possible.
